Trainers & Instructors
Steven Helton has taught group fitness classes at Lifestyle Wellness & Spa for over 20 years. After joining the gym with wife Tiffany following the birth of their son Wes in 1990, he became an avid fan of group exercise. Completing numerous group and personal training certification classes and programs over the years, he is a firm believer in the benefits of group fitness for people of all ages and fitness levels.
In his work at Lifestyle, Steven stresses the importance of a balanced approach to fitness—weightlifting to build muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular training to strengthen the heart, yoga & pilates to enhance flexibility and core strength, and sound nutritional practices that support healthful body composition. This balance is reflected in the classes he currently teaches which include Group Power, Group Centergy, and Spinning.
Graduating from Gardner-Webb University in 1986, Steven began teaching for Rutherford County Schools and later earned master’s and Ed.S. degrees from Converse College. He has worked as an assistant principal, a principal, and is currently the Director of Elementary Education. Considering himself “always a teacher at heart,” Steven’s love of people and education fuels the passion he has for his work at Lifestyle. In his own words, “I enjoy partnering with my friends at Lifestyle as we find ways to encourage, motivate, and support one another in reaching and celebrating our fitness goals! We’re not just lifting weights—we’re lifting spirits!” You may contact Steven at email@example.com.
